Kodoli is in Kolhapur district in southern Maharashtra, an area known for its sugarcane and its cooperative sugar industry. The Warana river flows through this part of the district, and the surrounding land is mostly irrigated farmland. On a map, Kodoli is a dense settlement set within a wide, regularly divided agricultural landscape.
The old part of the village is a close network of lanes. Houses stand close together and the streets bend and branch without a clear grid. Toward the edges, newer roads and plots are more regular. Farther out, field boundaries divide the land into many small parcels, and roads lead toward neighbouring villages and the district towns.
