Lugano Map Poster & Print
Lugano sits on the northern shore of Lake Lugano in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. The city fills a curved bay, with Monte Brè rising to the east and Monte San Salvatore to the south. Both mountains are reachable by funicular, and from either summit the city looks much like it does on a map.
The shoreline is the defining line. A promenade follows the water from the centre toward Parco Ciani, a lakeside park with tree-lined paths near the mouth of the Cassarate River. Behind the waterfront, the old town climbs in narrow lanes and arcaded streets such as Via Nassa, which open onto squares like Piazza della Riforma.
Higher up, the streets switch back and forth across the hillside, and villas and gardens thin out toward the woods. A Lugano map poster puts water, city and slope into one frame. The lake takes up a large, calm part of the composition, and the streets gather tightly along its edge.

Above the old town, roads zigzag up the slopes toward Monte Brè and the higher districts. Their loops add rhythm to the upper part of the map.
