Munster Map Poster & Print
Munster lies on the Lüneburg Heath in Lower Saxony, and the landscape around it is heath, pine forest and open sandy ground. From above, the town is compact, with its streets gathered along the Örtze river, but its surroundings are dominated by the large military training areas that have shaped Munster since the late nineteenth century.
It is one of the largest garrison towns in Germany, and it is home to the Deutsches Panzermuseum, the German Tank Museum, which draws visitors from far away. The barracks form their own distinct areas on the map, laid out in regular rows beside the civilian town.
