Pelham Map Poster & Print
Pelham is a city in Shelby County, Alabama, just south of Birmingham. Its map is organised along a north-south corridor where Interstate 65 and US Highway 31 run side by side. Commercial strips follow these roads, while residential neighbourhoods branch off in the curving streets and cul-de-sacs typical of American suburbs.
The eastern edge of the city is dominated by Oak Mountain State Park, the largest state park in Alabama. On the map its long wooded ridges and lakes form a wide, mostly empty area crossed only by park roads and trails, a striking contrast to the patterned subdivisions next to it.
A Pelham map poster brings these two halves together. The busy corridor with its interchanges and parallel roads reads as a strong vertical axis, the neighbourhoods as delicate branching lines, and the park as open space. It is a portrait of a modern Southern suburb shaped by both highway and landscape.
