Qā’emīyeh is a town in Fars province, Iran, in the valleys of the Zagros west of Shiraz. The landscape here is shaped by long, parallel ridges running northwest to southeast, with flat, cultivated ground between them. From above, the town sits on that valley floor, and its streets are laid out between farmland and the rising slopes.
The settlement is modest in size, and its map is uncomplicated: a central area with denser lanes, newer blocks at the edges and roads leading along the valley to neighbouring towns. The surrounding fields form a patchwork of irregular plots. On a black and white map, the slopes appear as the open space around them.
