Saaxo Map Poster & Print
Saaxo is a settlement in the Mudug region of central Somalia, in the dry interior away from the Indian Ocean coast. On a map it appears as a small, concentrated cluster of streets and compounds sitting in wide, open terrain, with tracks and roads leading outward toward neighbouring towns and grazing areas.
The surrounding landscape is semi-arid, shaped by long distances, seasonal rains and pastoral life. Mapped detail around the town is sparse, which gives the drawing a strong sense of space: a small knot of lines at the centre and a few long routes crossing otherwise open ground.
A Saaxo map poster is a minimal, graphic print. It does not rely on dense streets or famous landmarks, but on the relationship between a compact place and the vast land around it, and for people with family ties to the area it offers a rare, careful view of home.

Radiating tracks
Roads and tracks lead away from the settlement in several directions, thin lines connecting it to other towns across the region.
Open land
Wide semi-arid country surrounds the town, leaving large areas of blank paper that give the print a quiet, spacious feel.
