Sayan lies in the Olpad area of Surat district in southern Gujarat, on the broad, low plain that runs toward the Arabian Sea. The map shows a compact town rather than a planned one: a main road with a thicker cluster of streets around it, then lanes that thin out quickly into fields. There are no hills to work around, so the pattern is set by roads, farm boundaries and the railway.
This is sugarcane country, and the town is known locally for its cooperative sugar industry. From above, that farming economy shows in the long field edges, small canals and access tracks that run out from the built-up area. The settlement blends into its surroundings instead of ending at a sharp line, and neighbouring villages sit close enough to appear on the same sheet.
