Seabra is a municipality in the interior of Bahia, in north-eastern Brazil, lying within the broad upland region known as the Chapada Diamantina. From above, the town is a compact settlement of blocks and streets with a clear centre, surrounded by open country where tracks and highways run out across the plateau.
The Chapada Diamantina is best known for its table mountains, canyons and waterfalls, much of it protected as a national park further east. Seabra sits on the regional road network that links these highlands with the rest of the state, and its map reflects a working market town rather than a tourist centre.
