Tudiyalūr is a town on the northern edge of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, part of the city's expanding urban area. On a map it takes the shape of a corridor: dense streets clustered along the main road that runs north from Coimbatore toward Mettupalayam and the Nilgiri hills.
Side streets branch off this spine in short, irregular runs, filling the spaces between older village cores and newer residential layouts. Beyond the built-up zone, fields, tanks and scattered farmland remain, and to the west the Western Ghats form a distant line of hills.
