Tupelo Map Poster & Print
Tupelo is in northeast Mississippi, in Lee County. It grew where railways crossed, and its map still reflects that. A downtown grid lies near the tracks, and main roads and highways extend in several directions to neighbourhoods, commercial areas and industrial land. The Natchez Trace Parkway passes close to the city, and its headquarters are here.
Tupelo is best known as the birthplace of Elvis Presley, who was born in 1935 in a small two-room house in East Tupelo. The house and its grounds are now a museum. The city was badly damaged by a tornado in 1936, one of the deadliest in US history, and was rebuilt afterward.
A Tupelo map poster shows a Southern city built around transport. The downtown blocks form a compact centre near the railway, and highways and later suburbs spread out around them. The birthplace sits on the east side of town. Printed simply, the city's structure is very easy to follow.

Elvis Presley's birthplace is on the east side of the city. The house and grounds now form a small park and museum among the residential streets.
Natchez Trace
The historic parkway passes near the city on its route between Natchez and Nashville. On the map it is a long, gently curving line through wooded land.
