Wai Map Poster & Print
Wai sits on the Krishna River in Satara district of Maharashtra, at the foot of the Sahyadri hills below Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. The river runs through town in a gentle curve, and the map follows it: streets gather along the banks, with steep ground rising on either side and farmland filling the valley floor.
Wai is known for its riverside ghats and temples, among them the Dholya Ganpati temple and the ghats at Menavali nearby, and it has sometimes been called the Dakshin Kashi, a southern counterpart to Varanasi. Its old lanes and river setting have also made it a frequent filming location for Indian cinema.
A Wai map poster places the Krishna at its centre. The line of the river, the dense lanes near the ghats and the roads climbing toward the hills give the print both calm and movement. It suits people from Satara district, visitors on the way to Mahabaleshwar and anyone drawn to river towns.

Riverside ghats
Stone steps and temples line the banks, and the close lanes behind them form the densest part of the town on paper.
Sahyadri slopes
Hills rise close to Wai, and roads wind up toward Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, adding curving lines around the edges of the print.
