Hayange Map Poster & Print
Hayange lies in the Moselle department of north-eastern France, in the valley of the Fensch, a small river that gave its name to one of Lorraine's major steelmaking areas. On a map, the town is long and narrow, following the valley floor between wooded hillsides, with its streets pressed between the slopes and the industrial land.
For centuries the town's history was tied to iron and steel, and especially to the de Wendel family of ironmasters, whose château still stands in Hayange. The blast furnaces and industrial sites, with their rail sidings and large sheds, occupy a major part of the valley and are among the most prominent shapes on the map.
A Hayange map poster shows this distinctive structure: the ribbon of settlement along the Fensch, the massive industrial plots, the railway lines and the forest rising on both sides. It is a portrait of an industrial landscape, strongly shaped by geography, and it works well in a stark black-and-white style.

Steelworks
Blast furnaces and industrial sites take up large areas of the valley floor, with rail sidings and broad buildings clearly visible on the map.
Wooded slopes
Forested hillsides rise on either side of the valley, giving the town firm, natural edges.
