Linxia Chengguanzhen is the urban centre of the Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu, a region where the Loess Plateau meets the foothills of the Tibetan Plateau. The city occupies a river valley, and from above it forms a compact, tightly built area with hills and terraced slopes rising on either side.
Linxia is widely known as one of the most important centres of Islam in China, sometimes called China's Little Mecca, and the city has a large number of mosques and Sufi shrines. On the map this history shows up as an old core of narrow, irregular lanes, surrounded by newer districts with broader, straighter streets extending along the valley floor.
A Linxia Chengguanzhen map poster captures that contrast between the intricate old quarters and the planned modern roads. The river provides a clear line through the composition, and the edges of the valley give the city a natural frame, making it an unusual and distinctive image for anyone connected to this part of northwest China.
The historic heart of the city is a dense web of short, winding streets, where mosques and markets sit close together in a pattern that predates modern planning.
Newer districts stretch along the flat valley bottom in longer, straighter blocks, showing how the city has expanded in the direction the terrain allows.
The valley walls rise on both sides of the city, and on the poster they become open space that frames the urban area and sharpens its outline.

Cur Linxia Chengguanzhen
Linxia matters to people from the Hui community and to travellers who have crossed Gansu toward the plateau. The map records a city whose character comes from faith, trade and a demanding landscape, all readable in the structure of its streets.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps marking a family neighbourhood or a journey. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Noir makes the fine lanes of the old quarter stand out sharply.
