Source of the Sieg
The river that gives the Siegerland its name begins in Netphen's hills, and its early course can be traced as a thin line down the valley.

Netphen is not a single compact town but a municipality of many villages spread across the hills of the Siegerland, north-east of Siegen. On a map, it appears as a scatter of settlements in the valleys, each with its own small street network, connected by roads that follow the watercourses through large areas of forest.
The river Sieg rises within Netphen's territory before flowing west through Siegen toward the Rhine. The Obernau reservoir lies in the municipality as well, and its elongated lake is one of the clearest shapes on the map. Much of the higher ground belongs to the wooded uplands that border the Rothaargebirge.
A Netphen map poster works best as a portrait of a whole landscape rather than one centre. Village clusters dot the sheet, valley roads link them, and the reservoir and forest leave calm open areas in between. It is a good choice for anyone from one of the villages who wants to show how they all fit together.

Obernau reservoir
The long reservoir lies among forested slopes. Its shoreline forms a smooth, elongated shape that anchors the composition.
Valley villages
The municipality's many villages sit along the valleys, each forming a small knot of streets connected by winding roads through the woodland.

Cur Netphen
Tabula quae aliquid significat
People from Netphen often identify with a particular village, yet the municipality belongs together. A map that shows the whole area lets a family point to their own corner while keeping the wider Siegerland in the frame.
Put your village's name in the title or subtitle, add a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download HD files or order a framed print.
