Shibushi Map Poster & Print
Shibushi faces the Pacific on the eastern side of the Ōsumi Peninsula in Kagoshima prefecture, at the head of the wide bay that carries its name. The coastline here is a broad, smooth arc of sandy beach and pine forest, and on a map it gives the city a strong, simple outline: land on one side, open water curving away on the other.
The port is the city's defining feature. It handles grain and feed for the livestock farms of southern Kyushu, and ferries sail from here to Osaka.
