Ali is an urbanised village in southeast Delhi, near Sarita Vihar and Jasola and not far from the Yamuna. Like many of Delhi's old villages, it has been absorbed by the growing city, and today its compact core of narrow lanes sits among planned residential colonies, arterial roads and institutional land.
That contrast is what the map shows best. The village itself appears as a dense, irregular knot of streets, while the surrounding colonies follow straighter layouts. Major roads such as Mathura Road run nearby, and to the east the Yamuna floodplain opens up as a wide, sparsely built area.
