The map
Araruna Map Poster & Print
Araruna sits on high ground in the Curimataú region of eastern Paraíba, close to the border with Rio Grande do Norte. The altitude gives it a milder climate than the semi-arid lowlands around it. The town's streets spread across the top of the uplands, and roads drop away to smaller communities below. Around it, the map shows scrubland, farm plots and scattered rocky outcrops.
The municipality is home to Pedra da Boca State Park, a group of granite monoliths. One rock has a large mouth-shaped hollow, which gives the park its name. The formations draw climbers, hikers and people interested in the area's rock paintings, and they have made Araruna one of the better-known inland destinations in Paraíba.
An Araruna map poster brings together the compact town on its upland and the wide, textured countryside that falls away from it. The roads winding down from the high ground add movement to the composition, and the rural tracks toward the park fill the margins. It is a good choice for anyone who has climbed there or grew up nearby.

Pedra da Boca park
The state park's granite domes lie within the municipality. The protected area is named after the mouth-like hollow worn into one of its great rocks.
Border country roads
Rural roads link Araruna with neighbouring towns in Paraíba and across the state line in Rio Grande do Norte, forming a loose network through dry scrub.
