Central grid
The city centre is laid out in a regular pattern of wide, straight streets, which gives the map an ordered, almost architectural structure.

The map
Armidale Map Poster & Print
Armidale sits high on the New England Tablelands of northern New South Wales, close to a thousand metres above sea level. Its centre is a regular grid of wide streets, crossed by Dumaresq Creek and its ribbon of parkland, while the suburbs spread over gentle hills and the University of New England occupies its own spacious grounds to the northwest.
The city is known for its two cathedrals, Anglican and Catholic, and for its many heritage buildings in brick and stone. The University of New England, founded in 1938 as a college of the University of Sydney and independent since 1954, gives the town a strong academic character, and the autumn colours of its street trees draw visitors each year.
An Armidale map poster shows a tidy, legible city on high country. The grid gives it clear structure, the creek and parks add a soft green line through the middle, and the campus appears as an open landscape of its own on the edge of town.

Dumaresq Creek
The creek crosses the city with a strip of parkland along its banks, forming a gentle green line through the grid and a popular route for walkers.
University of New England
The campus spreads over rolling ground northwest of the centre, with its own network of curving roads, open fields and buildings set well apart.

Why Armidale
A map that means something
Armidale is often framed by former students and staff of UNE, and by people who grew up on the Tablelands and moved to the coast. The map recalls cold winters, autumn leaves and a city with a distinct high-country character.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a graduation year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 HD files include six sizes, and matte prints ship from partners in 30+ countries, framed or unframed.
