The map
Azilal Map Poster & Print
Azilal is a provincial capital in the Atlas Mountains of central Morocco, set on high ground between the Middle and High Atlas ranges. From above, the town is a compact grid of streets on relatively level land, while the surrounding map is dominated by terrain: ridges, ravines and river valleys, crossed by a handful of roads that twist through the mountains.
The town is a gateway to some of Morocco's best-known mountain landscapes. The Ouzoud waterfalls lie to the north-west, the Aït Bouguemez valley, often called the Happy Valley, lies to the south-east, and the wider area forms part of the M'Goun Geopark, recognised for its geology and dinosaur trackways. Villages sit along the valley floors among terraced fields.
An Azilal map poster contrasts the orderly streets of the town with the sinuous roads and valleys of the Atlas around it. It is a composition full of movement, well suited to larger print sizes where the mountain roads, the folds of the terrain and the scattered villages can all be seen in detail.

Mountain roads
Roads leave the town in long hairpin curves toward the valleys and the Ouzoud falls, drawing expressive, winding lines across the poster.
Valley villages
Small settlements and terraced fields line the river valleys around Azilal, appearing as scattered clusters that give the map depth and texture.
