Recoin and Roche-Béranger form two separate clusters on the map, each with its own lift base. A road winding through the forest connects them.

The map
Chamrousse Map Poster & Print
Chamrousse sits on the western edge of the Belledonne range in Isère, high above Grenoble. The resort has two main centres, Recoin and Roche-Béranger, at different altitudes and linked by a road through the forest. On a map, both appear as compact groups of buildings among slopes, lift lines and open ground.
Chamrousse hosted the alpine skiing events of the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, where Jean-Claude Killy won all three men's races. Higher up, the Lacs Robert sit in a small hollow of the mountain and make a popular summer walk. The commune is small, so almost everything lies within easy reach of the lifts.
A Chamrousse map poster is compact. The commune covers only a small area of mountain, so the road climbing from the Grenoble side, the two stations and the high lakes all fit comfortably in one frame. Pistes and lift lines fill the space between them, giving the map a clear structure of stations, forest and ridge.

Lacs Robert
A group of small mountain lakes sits above the resort. On the map they appear as a set of neat shapes of water close to the ridge.
Olympic slopes
The 1968 Olympic pistes run down from the heights above the stations and are still part of the ski area today.
