The map
Heinola Map Poster & Print
Heinola lies in Päijät-Häme in southern Finland, where the water of the lake district narrows into the Jyrängönvirta rapids on its way south to the Kymi river. From above, the town is organised around this channel. Streets gather on both banks, bridges cross it, and lakes and bays open out to the north and south.
The town was founded in the eighteenth century and later served as a provincial capital, and its old centre still keeps a regular grid of streets close to the water. Heinola is also known for its bird sanctuary and for the long gravel ridges that cross the landscape, carrying roads and forest.
A Heinola map poster is a portrait of land and water in balance. The irregular lake shorelines, the narrow rapids and the grid of the centre create a composition that is both detailed and calm. It is a natural choice for those with a summer cottage nearby or roots in the town.

Lake shorelines
Large lakes with long, indented shores lie to the north and south. Their outlines, bays and islands add intricate detail to the edges of the print.
Grid centre
The historic centre follows a regular pattern of streets near the water. It stands out as a small, orderly area among curving shores and forest.

Why Heinola
A map that means something
Heinola is where many people spend their summers, and a map of its lakes and rapids brings that feeling indoors for the rest of the year. The mix of water and grid makes a calm, balanced image.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a cottage name or a summer to remember. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint shows off the lake shores especially well.
