Hirosaki Map Poster & Print
Hirosaki is a city in western Aomori Prefecture, in the far north of Honshu. It was the castle town of the Tsugaru domain, and the original castle keep, dating from the Edo period, is one of the few in Japan to have survived. The castle grounds are now Hirosaki Park, known throughout Japan for its cherry blossoms, which are among the most celebrated in the country.
On a map, the park is a large rectangular area surrounded by moats in the heart of the city. Streets of the former castle town extend out from it, with temple districts at the edges. To the west, Mount Iwaki, a large, symmetrical volcano, dominates the view. The farmland around the city is famous for apples.
A Hirosaki map poster shows the moated castle grounds, the grid of the old town, and the Iwaki River along the western side. The strong outline of the park at the centre gives the composition a clear focus. It is a lovely print for anyone who has visited during cherry blossom season or grew up in Tsugaru.

Why Hirosaki
A map that means something
Many people remember Hirosaki from cherry blossom season, while others know it from years spent studying or growing up in Tsugaru. The map, with the castle park at its centre, captures the city at a glance.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the date of a spring visit. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The moats stand out especially clearly in Paper.
