Jędrzejów is a town in the Świętokrzyskie region of southern Poland, between Kielce and Kraków. On a map, it follows a classic pattern of Polish towns: a central market square with streets radiating outward, surrounded by later neighbourhoods. Just east of the centre stands a Cistercian abbey founded in the twelfth century, one of the oldest in Poland and linked with the chronicler Wincenty Kadłubek.
