Jevargi is a taluk headquarters in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, on the open, black-soil plain of the northern Deccan. The Bhima river passes close by. The main road between Kalaburagi and Vijayapura is the dominant line, and much of the town's commercial life sits along it.
