The map
Kirovsk Map Poster & Print
Kirovsk lies above the Arctic Circle on the Kola Peninsula, in a valley of the Khibiny mountains. It was founded in 1929 as Khibinogorsk to house workers for the newly discovered apatite deposits. Mining still shapes the town's outline, with roads climbing toward quarries and processing sites on the surrounding slopes.
The town sits beside Lake Bolshoy Vudyavr. Its streets follow the terrain rather than a strict plan, stepping up the hillsides in curved rows. Mountains press in on every side, so the built-up area looks compact and sheltered, and long valley roads lead out toward Apatity and the mines.
Kirovsk is also one of Russia's northernmost ski destinations. Its slopes on Mount Aikuaivenchorr draw skiers well into spring. A Kirovsk map poster keeps the essentials of this dramatic setting: the lake, the winding roads and a town squeezed between peaks, drawn with the restraint the landscape deserves.

Contour-following streets
Residential streets bend with the valley, forming layered curves instead of a grid. That gives the poster a sense of height even though it is flat.
Roads into the Khibiny
Service roads run from the town deep into the mountains toward the apatite workings, stretching thin lines across otherwise empty terrain.
