Kisinga lies in western Uganda, only a few kilometres north of the equator, on the lowland of the Albertine Rift. The Rwenzori mountains rise to the north-west, and to the south the land opens toward the lakes and savanna of the rift floor. On a map, the town is a modest cluster of streets set within a wide pattern of fields and scattered homesteads.
The layout is simple and informal. A main road carries most of the traffic, and shorter tracks branch off it toward farms and villages.
