Cane field blocks
Large rectangular cane fields surround the town. On the poster they form a strong geometric pattern that contrasts with the finer grain of the streets.

The map
Laredo Map Poster & Print
Laredo is a town in Peru's La Libertad region, a short distance inland from Trujillo, in the valley of the Moche River. The coast of northern Peru is desert, and the valley is a band of irrigated green through it. Laredo is known for sugar cane, and a large sugar mill has long shaped both its economy and its layout.
On the map, the town has a compact grid of streets. Around it lie wide blocks of cane fields crossed by irrigation canals and farm roads. The contrast is strong: a dense urban core, then a sweep of rectangular fields, and finally the bare hills that mark the edge of the valley. Roads toward Trujillo and further up the valley complete the picture.
A Laredo map poster captures that layered arrangement, with the town, the fields and the valley's containing slopes. In black and white, the long lines of the canals and the repeated shapes of the fields are especially clear. It's a considered way to remember a place defined by water, cane and the Moche valley.

Irrigation canals
Canals carry water from the Moche River across the valley floor. Their long, gently curving lines connect the fields and give the map a sense of flow.
Valley edge
Beyond the irrigated land, the dry hills of the coastal desert close in. That boundary marks where the cultivated valley ends and frames the whole composition.
