Mankesim is a town in the Central Region of Ghana, a short distance inland from the Gulf of Guinea coast and on the main road linking Accra with Cape Coast. In Fante tradition, Mankesim is remembered as an early settlement founded after the migration of the Fante people into the coastal region, and it remains an important traditional centre.
