Murs à pêches
The historic peach walls divide the upper town into long, narrow enclosures. From above they create a striped pattern of lanes and plots that is instantly recognisable.

The map
Montreuil Map Poster & Print
Montreuil begins just outside the Périphérique at Porte de Montreuil and rises eastward from the edge of Paris onto a plateau. On a map the western part continues the dense fabric of eastern Paris, with long roads running out from the city gates, while the higher eastern districts become more varied, mixing housing estates, parks and open ground.
The most unusual feature is the Murs à pêches, a network of narrow walled plots where peaches were grown against heat-retaining walls from the seventeenth century onward. The surviving walls form a fine, almost woven pattern of long thin parcels in the upper part of the town, unlike anything else in the inner Paris suburbs.
Montreuil also has a place in cinema history: Georges Méliès built one of the first film studios here in 1897. Today the town is known for its artists' workshops, its flea market beside the Périphérique and the end of Métro line 9 at Mairie de Montreuil. A Montreuil map poster places all of this on one sheet, from city gate to plateau.

Porte de Montreuil
Where Montreuil meets Paris, the ring road and its interchange form a hard edge on the western side of the map, with the flea market held right beside it.
Parc des Beaumonts
This hillside park appears as a broad open patch among residential streets, a green break that anchors the eastern half of the poster.

Why Montreuil
A map that means something
Montreuil is home to many who moved out of Paris for more space, to artists and to families rooted in its older neighbourhoods. A map of it is a way to claim the town on its own terms rather than as a footnote to the capital.
Write your own title, add a subtitle such as the date you moved in, and edit the coordinates. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Digital files come in six print sizes, including 50×70 cm and A2.
