Temple quarter
The older lanes around the Khirachora Gopinatha temple make up the densest part of the town and give the map a clear centre of gravity.

The map
Remuna Map Poster & Print
Remuna lies on the flat coastal plain of northern Odisha, a short distance west of Balasore. Its name is closely linked to the Khirachora Gopinatha temple, a Vaishnava shrine known for the sweet milk offering, or kheer, that gives the deity his name. The temple and the stories around it draw pilgrims from across the region, and they shape the rhythm of the town through the year.
On a map the town is compact. A small cluster of lanes gathers around the older centre and then loosens into scattered settlement at the edges. Village tanks and ponds appear as small still shapes between the houses, and past the built-up area the land breaks into the fine patchwork of cultivated fields that covers so much of this low, well-watered district.
A Remuna map poster keeps the scale of the place honest. It is a modest grid of streets and paths, with water here and there, set in open farmland near the Bay of Bengal. It looks very little like a big city plan. Printed in monochrome, it reads as a quiet portrait of a town that is known for one temple and one sweet offering.

Tanks and ponds
Small bodies of water are scattered through the settlement. They are typical of coastal Odisha and appear on the poster as neat blank forms among the streets.
Open farmland
Around the town the plain opens into cultivated fields. The streets thin out quickly, so the settlement appears as an island of lines in open country.
