The map
Rizhuang Map Poster & Print
Rizhuang lies in eastern Shandong, in the countryside inland from Qingdao. The land here is mostly low and open, used for farming, and from above the town appears as a cluster of streets and blocks within a wide patchwork of fields and villages.
As in many towns in this part of China, the map mixes several layers: straight main roads laid out in recent decades, larger factory or institutional plots, and the tight grid of older village housing. Small rivers and irrigation channels cross the surrounding land in thin lines.
A Rizhuang map poster records the shape of a place that rarely appears on maps at all. The contrast between the orderly town blocks and the pattern of fields and villages around them gives the print its character, especially in the plainer black and white styles.

Village clusters
Compact village settlements with tightly packed housing lie around the town, each appearing as a small dense patch on the map.
Open farmland
Fields and irrigation channels surround the built area, giving the poster a wide margin of quiet, lightly lined ground.
