Hillside streets
Roads curve and climb across the slopes. They give the town an irregular, stepped outline that is easy to recognise on the print.

The map
Taounate Map Poster & Print
Taounate is the capital of a province in the foothills of the Rif, north of Fes. The town is built on hilly ground, and its streets have to work with the slope. Some roads curve along the contours, while others climb more steeply between terraces of houses. From above, the town looks irregular and layered, completely unlike a plains grid.
The countryside around it is largely agricultural, with olive groves and small plots covering the hills, crossed by winding rural roads. Beyond the town lies the valley of the Ouergha river, which is dammed downstream to form one of Morocco's largest reservoirs. On a detailed map, this landscape shows a pattern of ridges, valleys and scattered villages, with the town sitting on the high ground.
A Taounate map poster suits people from the province, including the many who now live in Fes, other Moroccan cities or abroad and still think of the hills as home. It is a textured, contour-driven print that shows how a town settles into steep ground.

Olive country
Farmland and groves cover the surrounding hills, criss-crossed by winding lanes. They form a fine texture around the denser town.
Rif foothills
Ridges and valleys run through the wider area. Taounate sits on high ground above them, looking out over the rolling land.

Why Taounate
A map that means something
For families from the Taounate hills who have moved to the cities or abroad, this map is a clear link to home. The subtitle can be written in Arabic, Tamazight or French, and the coordinates line pins the town exactly.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are all editable. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the dry hills and olive groves, and Noir sharpens the winding roads.
