Tigard is a suburban city in Washington County, Oregon, just south-west of Portland. Major routes frame its map: Interstate 5 on the east, Oregon Route 217 cutting through the middle, and Highway 99W running diagonally toward the Willamette Valley. Between them lies a mix of curving residential streets, cul-de-sacs and commercial strips.
Green corridors give the plan its softer lines. Fanno Creek winds through the city with a trail and parks along its banks, and the Tualatin River forms part of the southern boundary, where Cook Park stretches along the water.
