Valley-floor town
The streets stretch along the valley rather than spreading out, so the town appears as a long, narrow band framed by empty mountainside.

The map
Timotes Map Poster & Print
Timotes sits high in the Venezuelan Andes, in the northern part of Mérida state. The town follows the upper valley of the Motatán river, and from above it looks like a narrow ribbon of streets squeezed between steep slopes, with the Trans-Andean highway running straight through it.
That road is the key to the town's shape. Heading south, it climbs in long bends toward the high páramo and the pass near Pico El Águila, one of the highest road crossings in the country. Around Timotes, small farms and terraced fields cling to the hillsides, growing vegetables in the cool mountain climate.
A Timotes map poster turns the terrain into graphic line: the compact centre in the valley floor, the thread of the river, and the highway bending up and away into the mountains. It is a portrait of a town shaped almost entirely by its topography.

Trans-Andean highway
The main road runs through the centre and then climbs in switchbacks toward the high páramo, drawing a striking line across the upper part of the map.
Motatán river
The young Motatán river runs through the valley, a thin line of water that follows the same path as the town and the road.
