Two rivers
The Besaya and the Saja converge near the town, and their winding channels, lined with riverside paths and green strips, divide the map into clear, recognisable sections.

The map
Torrelavega Map Poster & Print
Torrelavega is the second-largest municipality in Cantabria after Santander and sits in a valley just inland from the Bay of Biscay coast. The town spreads across the flat ground where the Besaya meets the Saja, and both rivers remain the defining features of its map. Their courses create a series of loops and riverside strips that divide the urban area into distinct districts linked by bridges.
The town grew as a market and industrial centre. Its livestock market has long been one of the most important in Spain, and the Solvay chemical works at Barreda, on the northern edge, has shaped local employment for more than a century. On the map the contrast is clear: a compact centre of streets and squares, surrounded by rail lines, factory grounds and the curves of motorway interchanges.
Beyond the town, the land rises quickly into green hills dotted with villages, and Santillana del Mar and the Altamira caves lie a few kilometres to the north-west. A Torrelavega map poster framed across both rivers captures a working town in a soft landscape, and suits anyone who knows this part of northern Spain.

Industrial edge
The Solvay works at Barreda and the rail lines around them form large, regular shapes along the northern side, a reminder of the town's long industrial role.
Green hills
Around the urban area, hills and valleys rise gently, and the roads that climb them draw thin, looping lines that lend the poster a soft outer frame.
