Colonial street web
The historic centre is a tangle of narrow cobbled streets meeting at irregular angles, which gives the heart of the map a dense, hand-drawn quality.

The map
Trinidad Map Poster & Print
Trinidad lies near the south-central coast of Cuba, in Sancti Spíritus province, and was founded by the Spanish in the early sixteenth century. Its historic centre is one of the best-preserved colonial towns in the Caribbean and, together with the nearby Valle de los Ingenios, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From above, the old town is an irregular web of short, cobbled streets.
Unlike the strict grids of many Spanish colonial cities, Trinidad's streets bend and meet at odd angles, opening onto small squares such as the Plaza Mayor. To the north rise the foothills of the Escambray mountains, and to the south the land slopes toward the coast and the Ancón peninsula with its long beach. The valley of former sugar mills spreads inland to the east.
A Trinidad map poster captures that intricate colonial core surrounded by the looser pattern of newer districts and rural roads. In black and white, the density of the old town becomes a fine, textured centrepiece, a reminder of a place that grew wealthy on sugar and then, for a long time, was left largely unchanged.

Plaza Mayor
The main square sits on higher ground in the old town, framed by colonial mansions and the parish church, a small open space within the tight pattern of blocks.
Ancón peninsula
South of the town, a thin strip of land runs along the Caribbean with a long beach, drawing a clean coastal line at the wider edge of the area.

Why Trinidad
A map that means something
Trinidad is a place people remember vividly: horse carts on cobblestones, music in the evening, the view over the rooftops toward the sea. A map of its streets is a restrained souvenir, and a meaningful piece for anyone with Cuban roots in the region.
