Residential streets
A dense web of small streets and lanes covers much of the town. It creates an intricate, even pattern that gives the poster a detailed, almost textile quality.

The map
Vacoas Map Poster & Print
Vacoas lies on the central plateau of Mauritius and, together with Phoenix, forms one of the island's main towns, Vacoas-Phoenix. At this altitude the climate is cooler and wetter than on the coast, and the landscape is greener. From above, the town is a dense network of residential streets, small roads and cul-de-sacs. A few main routes organise it and connect it to Curepipe, Quatre Bornes and Port Louis.
South of town the land rises toward the forested uplands around Mare aux Vacoas, the largest reservoir in Mauritius. At the edge of a wider map, its shoreline makes a clear, irregular shape. The town takes its name from the vacoas, the local name for the screw pine, a plant with long, spiky leaves that once grew widely in the area.
The town is mostly residential. Markets, schools and places of worship are spread through its neighbourhoods rather than gathered in a single centre. A Vacoas map poster reflects that texture: a fine, even pattern of streets with no single dominant landmark, framed by the green of the plateau and the water to the south.

Main roads
A few main routes cross the town and connect it with Curepipe, Quatre Bornes and Port Louis. They give structure to the finer network of local streets.
Mare aux Vacoas
To the south, the island's largest reservoir sits among forested uplands. Its irregular shoreline adds a strong water shape at the edge of a wider frame.

Why Vacoas
A map that means something
Vacoas is home to a large share of the island's population, and many Mauritians abroad see it as the place they return to. A map of its streets is a simple, personal reminder of family and neighbourhood.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a wedding date, and choose one of five styles. Sand and Paper suit the green plateau, while Classic black & white keeps the dense street network crisp.
