Medieval core
The old town forms a close, irregular web of lanes and small squares, clearly denser than the neighbourhoods that grew around it.

The map
Valls Map Poster & Print
Valls is the capital of the Alt Camp county in Tarragona province, a short distance inland from the Mediterranean coast. On a map, its old quarter shows as a dense knot of narrow, irregular streets around the church and main squares, surrounded by wider streets from later growth and then by the farmland of the Camp plain.
The town is known across Catalonia for two traditions. It is considered the birthplace of the castells, the human towers built by rival colles, and of the calçotada, the winter feast of grilled spring onions. Both give Valls a strong identity far beyond its size.
A Valls map poster shows the contrast clearly: the tight old centre, the more regular extensions and the roads leaving for Tarragona, Reus and the hills. It is a fitting piece for a casteller, a returning local or anyone who has spent a long lunch in the town.

Town of castells
Valls is regarded as the cradle of human towers, and its central squares, where the towers are raised on festival days, sit at the heart of the map.
Farmland edge
Beyond the built-up area, field boundaries and rural roads spread across the Camp plain, the land of the calçots that made the town famous.
