The map
Vári Map Poster
Vári lies in southern Attica, between the ridge of Mount Hymettus and the Saronic Gulf, and it is part of the municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni. From above, the streets climb from the coastal plain onto the lower slopes. They bend around contours and stop where the ground gets too steep. The result is a map that shows where the city ends and the mountain begins.
Most of the area is low-rise housing with gardens and pine trees, so the street pattern is fairly open, with irregular blocks rather than a dense urban grid.
