The map
Vattalkundu Map Poster & Print
Vattalkundu, often written Batlagundu, is a town in Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu, at the base of the Palani Hills. It is widely known as the point where travellers leave the plains for the ghat road up to Kodaikanal, and that position between flat country and rising hills shapes its map.
The town centre forms a compact grid of market streets and residential lanes along the main highway. To the west and north the ground begins to climb, and roads start to wind as they head toward the hills, while farmland and small water tanks stretch across the lowlands on the other side.
A Vattalkundu map poster captures a threshold, a working town on level ground with the first curves of the mountain roads visible on its edge. The contrast between straight plains streets and the bending hill routes gives the print a clear sense of direction.

Highway market streets
The busiest streets cluster along the main road through town, forming a dense commercial spine that anchors the surrounding residential lanes.
Plains and tanks
Farmland and irrigation tanks on the lowland side leave open space and rounded shapes that soften the grid of the town itself.

Why Vattalkundu
A map that means something
Many people pass through Batlagundu on the way to Kodaikanal, but for those who grew up here it is home, not a stop on the way. A map of its streets is a thoughtful gift for family members who have moved to Chennai, Madurai or abroad.
Add a family name, a Tamil spelling or a special date to the title and subtitle, along with the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper gives the map a warm, understated look.
