The map
Żywiec Map Poster & Print
Żywiec lies in the south of Silesian Voivodeship, in a basin surrounded by the Beskid mountains, where the Koszarawa River joins the Soła. Just north of the town the Soła has been dammed to form Lake Żywiec, a large reservoir whose long, irregular outline is one of the most distinctive shapes on the map, reaching into valleys between wooded hills.
The town is known across Poland and beyond for its brewery, founded in 1856 under the Habsburgs, whose beer carries the town's name. Żywiec also has two castles: the Old Castle, with a Renaissance arcaded courtyard, and the New Castle, a later residence of the Habsburg family, both set beside a large landscaped park that appears as a broad green space on the map.
The market square sits at the centre, with streets fanning out toward the rivers and the hills. A Żywiec map poster draws together water, town and mountain slopes in a compact frame, with the reservoir providing a strong, sculptural shape against the finer lines of streets and the roads climbing into the surrounding Beskids.

Meeting of rivers
The Koszarawa flows into the Soła at Żywiec, and the two rivers trace curving lines through the town before reaching the reservoir.

Why Żywiec
A map that means something
Żywiec is a familiar name for hikers heading into the Beskids, for visitors to the brewery and for families with deep roots in the region. A map of the town and its lake makes a striking piece for any wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the date of a mountain trip, and choose one of five styles; Blueprint and Noir suit the reservoir well. HD files in six sizes cost $9, with no watermark.
