Auburndale is a city in Polk County, in central Florida, between Lakeland and Winter Haven. Like much of this region, it is defined by lakes. Several of them, including Lake Ariana, sit close to the town, and their rounded shapes form the strongest features on the map. The surrounding land was long given over to citrus groves.
