Ko e mape
Bianouan is a town in the Comoé District of southeastern Côte d'Ivoire, in the Sud-Comoé region not far from the border with Ghana. This is a humid, forested part of West Africa, and on a map the town appears as a compact cluster of streets set within dense green cover, with a handful of roads leading out toward neighbouring towns and villages.
Agriculture shapes the surrounding land, with cocoa, rubber and oil palm among the crops commonly grown across this part of the country. From above, plantation plots and forest patches create a soft, irregular pattern around the town, while the main streets through the centre form a clearer structure where homes, shops and public buildings are grouped.
A Bianouan map poster is a way of honouring a place that rarely appears in atlases or on souvenir shelves. It is especially meaningful for those who have left for Abidjan or further afield, offering a precise, uncluttered picture of home to hang on the wall or give to a relative.
The main streets meet at the heart of the town, where buildings are most closely spaced and the lines of the map are densest.
Green cover and cultivated land surround the settlement, leaving broad, quiet areas on the map that emphasise the compact shape of the town.
Roads lead out from the centre toward neighbouring settlements in the Sud-Comoé region, drawing long lines through the surrounding countryside.
