Brant is a single-tier municipality in south-western Ontario, surrounding but separate from the city of Brantford. Its map is largely rural, divided by the long rectangular concession roads and lot lines that shaped land surveys across the province, and dotted with small communities such as Paris, St. George and Burford.
The Grand River crosses the county from north to south, winding through a wooded valley that stands out clearly against the regular farmland. In Paris the Nith River joins the Grand, and the town's historic centre sits at that confluence, known for its cobblestone buildings made of local fieldstone.
The municipality is named after Joseph Brant, the Mohawk leader who led Haudenosaunee people to settle along the Grand River in the late eighteenth century. A Brant map poster shows the dialogue between straight survey lines and the curves of rivers, a composition both orderly and shaped by landscape.
The river winds through the county in broad loops, its wooded banks forming a dark, flowing line across the pale grid of fields.
Where the Nith meets the Grand, the town of Paris gathers around the water, its streets fitted into the space between river bends and bluffs.
Straight rural roads divide the land into long rectangles, a surveyor's pattern typical of Ontario that gives the map a calm, rhythmic structure.

Ko e ha Brant
Brant is home to farming families, commuters and people who love its river towns. A map of the county records the shape of that landscape, from a childhood farm road to the bridge in Paris, in a way that feels both precise and personal.
Title the poster with your town or family name, add a date in the subtitle and adjust the coordinates. Choose one of five styles, preview it free, then download the $9 HD files or order a matte printed poster with an optional frame.
