Ko e mape
Břeclav lies on the Dyje river in the far south of Moravia, close to the point where the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia meet. On a map the river and its old channels wind through the town, and wide bands of floodplain forest press in from the south. The compact centre sits beside the water, and housing estates and industrial areas spread out along the main roads.
The town grew as a railway junction. The first steam railway in the Czech lands reached Břeclav in 1839, and lines still converge here from Brno, Vienna and Bratislava, drawing long curving tracks across the map. Just outside town are the Lednice–Valtice cultural landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Great Moravian site at Pohansko.
A Břeclav map poster brings together three strong elements: the looping river, the fan of railway lines and the dark mass of the riverside woods. In monochrome, their overlapping shapes give the town an unusually layered look.
The river and its side channels wind through Břeclav in loops and oxbows. They divide the town into sections and set the natural rhythm of the map.
Tracks from several directions meet at the station and spread out in long, sweeping curves. The rail network is one of the most recognisable features of the town from above.
South of the centre, dense riverside woodland reaches toward the Lednice–Valtice area. On the print it forms a broad, quiet expanse against the built-up streets.

Ko e ha Břeclav
Břeclav means something to people from South Moravia, to rail travellers who have changed trains there, and to visitors to the Lednice–Valtice landscape. The map records a crossroads between three countries.
