Chāndur is a town in eastern Maharashtra, in the Vidarbha region, where the Deccan plateau flattens into wide agricultural plains. From above, it is a compact, irregular settlement. Its lanes are packed closely together in the older centre and loosen toward the edges, where the fields begin.
