Curepipe lies on the central plateau of Mauritius at more than 500 metres above sea level, which makes it one of the coolest and rainiest towns on the island. Its streets do not follow a strict grid. Instead they bend around gentle slopes, gardens and wooded plots, giving the map a relaxed, organic texture quite unlike the coastal towns.
The most striking shape is Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater close to the town centre, drawn as an almost perfect ring encircled by a road. Nearby, the Curepipe Botanical Garden and the grounds of the Royal College add open spaces to the pattern, while the town hall recalls the colonial wooden architecture that once filled the area.
The main road between Port Louis and the south passes through, linking Curepipe to the neighbouring towns of the Plaines Wilhems. A Curepipe map poster makes the crater its natural focal point, with the surrounding streets flowing outward like contour lines on a topographic sheet, and the town's green margins keeping the composition light.
A dormant volcanic crater close to the centre, ringed by a circular road and forested inside, it forms one of the most distinctive shapes on any Mauritian map.
The town's botanical garden opens a patch of paths and lawns among the residential streets, a quiet green block in the heart of Curepipe.
Rather than a grid, the streets curve with the terrain of the plateau, producing flowing lines that suit a minimalist print especially well.

Ko e ha Curepipe
Curepipe is a place of cool mornings and misty afternoons, remembered fondly by those who studied at the Royal College or grew up on the plateau. Its crater makes the map instantly recognisable to anyone who knows Mauritius.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates, then choose one of five styles. Noir sets the crater off against a dark ground, while Paper and Classic black & white keep it light and understated.
