Dehdasht is the chief town of Kohgiluyeh County, in the province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad. It sits in a basin in the southern Zagros, and the map shows a town that has filled a stretch of level ground between ridges. The main streets run across the basin, and the edges of the town break up where the land starts to climb.
The mountains here fold in long, steep lines, and they shape everything on the map, from the direction of the roads to the width of the valley.
