Galappo is a town in Babati District in the Manyara Region of northern Tanzania, in the highland farming country around the Great Rift Valley. The land is used for maize, beans and other crops, and towns like Galappo act as local centres where roads, markets and services meet.
The town follows its main road. Shops, houses and compounds line the route, and a looser network of lanes and tracks spreads from it into the surrounding plots. The built-up area is modest and quickly gives way to fields, scattered homesteads and open ground, and the land rises and falls gently across the frame.
