Ko e mape
Gualaco sits in the Olancho Department of eastern Honduras, a region of broad valleys, cattle country and forested ranges. From above, the town is a compact cluster of blocks set in open land, with dirt and paved roads leading out into the fields. The difference between the settled core and the empty country around it is what gives the map its character.
The municipality lies close to the Sierra de Agalta, one of the country's larger protected mountain areas, and the relief to the south shows on the map as a quieter, emptier zone. Nearer the centre, streets follow a simple rectilinear pattern around the older core, typical of Honduran towns, before breaking into looser, irregular tracks at the edges.
A Gualaco map poster keeps all of this in plain black lines on white: the tight town grid, the roads that run out across the valley and the way the network fades into rural space. For someone with family ties to Olancho, it is a quiet, precise way to keep the place in view.
The centre of Gualaco is a small block pattern of short, straight streets, dense enough to read as a clear shape against the surrounding countryside.
A few roads leave town and run across the open valley floor, thin lines connecting Gualaco to farms, villages and the wider Olancho road network.
Toward the Sierra de Agalta the map grows sparse, and the lack of streets itself outlines where the terrain rises into forested high ground.

Ko e ha Gualaco
People hang a map of Gualaco because it is home, or was, and a street plan remembers details that photographs miss. The small scale of the town means the whole centre fits comfortably on one sheet, with room left for the landscape around it.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download it as a digital file or order a printed poster.
